Welcome to KurtJaros.com

Hi friends! Welcome to my new website.

For those of you who have been following along in my journey, you may know that my weekly podcast, Veracity Hill, has gone on an indefinite hiatus. Defenders Media has a new Director (Trevor J. Fox), because I’ve taken a job in St. Louis, MO as the Executive Director of Faith Ascent Ministries. Faith Ascent is geared toward reaching high school students with good reasons for the hope we have in Christ so they may be grounded in their faith prior to entering college.

Prior to being offered the job at Faith Ascent back in February, in January I completed my Ph.D. through the University of Aberdeen. My doctoral dissertation looked at the so-called Semi-Pelagians, specifically with respect to their view(s) on Original Sin. Loads of fun (for me!).

KurtJaros.com will serve as the digital home for my professional academic work, speaking, and teaching, as well as the place for me to write about more complex and deeper issues that apologists may be talking about. In this respect, this website will be better suited for those types of articles than Veracity Hill was meant to be, so even if the podcast gears up again in the future, this site will be where my writing appears.

I have some content coming down the pipeline on the Mike Licona – Lydia McGrew history (many have asked for something explaining the background situation) and points of contention. I also have some of my PhD work I’m hoping to do some more translation work on, by which I mean making the material more accessible for popular audiences. Finally, I have a debate scheduled in October with pastor Douglas Wilson on the subject of how much evil God decrees. These three subjects currently have my attention, but other projects loom behind them (editing some book projects, writing pop-level material on New Testament scholarship, etc.). Moonlighting has it’s downsides … only so few hours in the day to attend to the scholarship.

Thanks for your interest in my work!
